Usually I am not a procrastinator. The sooner I get something done, the less time I will spend worrying about it and more free time I will have. But right now I am doing this instead of laundry. Why? I don’t want to get up from my chair.
So Miley Cyrus has a new CD out. She is wearing a shirt on the cover of it. Or something that somewhat resembles a shirt. Maybe it is just a piece of cloth, covering her breasts. Apparently she likes wearing less clothes, not because she is slutty, no no, it’s because it is ‘more comfortable’. Her words, not mine. Anyways, the songs in this new album are this; echo, echo, voice enhancement, echo. That about sums it up. Now, honestly, I like Miley’s voice. Not a fan of her (anymore), but she does have a rather lovely and captivating voice. When it is used properly. The song ‘When I Look At You’ (which is currently on my Myspace profile) gives me goosebumps almost every time I listen to it. Then again, the movie she sung it for made me bawl like a child who just got their McDonalds toy taken away. Moving and stupendous that movie was. That is a different subject, though, for another time.
Or now. I have seen quite a few good movies lately. Remember Me (also made me cry), Date Night (my new personal favorite), and The Last Song (movie I mentioned above) were all quite awesome. Each one was brought to my attention by all the advertising on each one, and I am glad that I went to see those.
There are plenty of movies coming out, or that are already out, that I would looove to see too. Avatar: The Last Airbender for starters. I mean COME ON! I used to watch that all the time and now there will be real actors and it is gonna be in 3D!!! Incredible. Next up is Tron. If you have seen the trailer, you know what I’m talking about. Heck. Yes. Then there is another I have been wanting to take my mom to, but I have not yet been able to because of my job. Letters to Juliet seems like a sweet ickle romance.
Despite seeing good movies, I saw a crappy one the other day. The only interesting part about it was that Kellen Lutz (Emmett from Twilight) was in the first scene. That is right people. Nightmare On Elm Street suuuuucked. Of course I had my friend (SAMMIKINS) telling me when the scary parts were. Plus, I hate the movie where the dog dies. DOGS ARE INNOCENT AND HELPLESS AND DEFENCELESS CREATURES. Except in Kujo. That crap’s messed up.
Okay so I have rambled about movies, music… next is books! There are so many good ones coming out this summer. The one I am looking forward to the most, though will just HAVE to be the second in the Shiver series. Never heard of it? Not surprising. But it is my new favorite series. Better than Twilight, even. Because I basically like Twilight for the werewolves, and Shiver is all about werewolves. There is cute fluff (romance) in the book as well, along with a hyper best friend and situations that are written so well that it might as well be real.
A few others that are coming out are the third book in The Hunger Games series. That is good, because the second left us a cliffhanger. The next in the Airhead series by Meg Cabot and The Darkest Powers series too I think. That is all I’ve got off the top of my head.
Now that I have covered all the basics… Where is my phone? I had it around here somewhere…
I FINALLY GOT THROUGH ALL OF SARAH DESSEN’S NOVELS. Almost. Half-way through Lock and Key, which is her newest one. My friend (with the nickame) Bean is also making me add more to my reading list by letting me borrow her books. The list is in my mind, because I am sure I would forget half of them if I took the time to actually write them all down. Still, I think I should. I just have to find the brainpower.
I have been really tired lately. I get eight hours of sleep every night (or have been) and yet I am still tired. It is getting ridiculous, and I am thinking it may have something to do with the fact that I am unable to rest until it is after one at least. Which is good kind of, because I don’t even get home from work until midnight most nights (or later). Oh yeah, I love my job as a hostess. You meet some fabulous people and get to see previous teachers/family friends that you haven’t conversed with in awhile.
Oh yes! And some family friends (who may as well be family) are coming in from Washington today. I am sure they are in the state as I write this, actually. They should be here in about another two hours. It is about once every two years (if that) when I get to see them all. But I just went to Disney World with them in October. To sum things up, I am ecstatic. Took off work for the week so I can be around them and soak up as much time as I can before they leave.
This brings me to another point, but I forgot it. That is my cue to stop now. I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer so far.
